Name: BronwenAge: 19Creation Info:Body: Volks Excellent JHead: Volks prerooted red A-type headEyes and lips painted with Liquitex paintsLikes: Dancing, visiting cities, hard workDislikes: Her parents, old-fashioned values, summer vacationBackground: Bronwen aspires to be a ballet dancer, but she doesn't fit in with her peers. Her flame-red hair often makes her the subject of teasing, and her parents, who are determined to make her pay more attention to her studies, constantly humiliate her in public. She acts tough and determined, but deep down she would do anything to belong. Her only solace is the company of a boy 4 years younger than her. What would her parents say about that? |
Comments: Here's my problem child! ::laughs:: ^______^;;........Bronwen was the originally the third custom doll I ever made, and my second A-type head. I was pretty inexperienced with customizing, and not comfortable at all with a paint brush. She was a sorry sight! I had boil-permed her hair, not realizing that the prerooted A-type heads were rooted for straight-across bangs. I braided her hair and boiled her head for only 14 seconds. The results was a poofy, raggy mess ^^;;;.....I tried tying back the sides of her hair, because I couldn't cut her bangs, but it just didn't look right. At that time I wasn't comfortable with painting the A-type head, and I used up a lot of paint trying to keep her eyes even. Not to mention the fact that I completely screwed up her eyebrows ^o^! Oh, she was such a mess, I didn't know if I could do anything with her ^^;;;.........but then I found out about professional strength nail polish remover ^^!I had heard somewhere that Liquitex blue paint stains vinyl, but I managed to remove Bronwen's face without any problem. (Yellow paint does stain, though, so be careful!) Her eyepaint was so thick it came off in chips. ::throws up violently:: O_o....But I still had to do something about that hair! How I wished that I had never done anything so horrible to that lovely prerooted head! I popped a plastic sleeve over her head, pulled the front section of her hair down over her face to make bangs, and boiled it on medium heat for 15 minutes. Her hair was still wavy in the back, like it had been crimped, but at least I took care of the front ^___^!And then I painted her. It wasn't that hard. I do love the old prerooted heads, they look so boyish and healthy compared to the smaller ones Volks sells now. ^^ ;;;;;.......Leene's Comments: Well, I say, love knows no boundaries---but I do draw the line at incest! ^^ |
